2010 was a very special year for us as the RSJ Restaurant celebrated its 30th year. We held a number of special events through the year to mark our 30th birthday.

In addition to our regular Wine Tasting Dinners we are introducing a series of '5 Stars from the Loire' featuring five wines plus an aperitif from outstanding Loire vignerons accompanied by a buffet supper.

The following dates are scheduled:    7.00-9.30 pm approx

Monday 24th September ‘5 Stars from the Loire ’   Buffet Supper   £28.50 ‘Sauvignon’
We will feature five Sauvignons from outstanding growers:
Vincent Roussely – Touraine
Christophe Daviau- Anjou
Jean & Maroussia Tatin - Reuilly
Laurent & Claude Champault – Menetou Salon
Sebastien Treuillet – Pouilly Fumé
       
Monday 29th October   ‘5 Stars from the Loire ’ Buffet Supper  £28.50
We will feature wines from the following top Vignerons:
Pierre Luneau – Muscadet
Jérôme Billard – Chinon
Frédéric Mabileau – St Nicolas de Bourgueil
Thierry Germain [French Wine maker of the year 2011] – Saumur
Vincent Ogereau – Anjou

Monday 10th September   ‘Chenin Blanc’  Tasting & Dinner £48.65  
Why the Loire leads the world for quality with this grape variety 
We will be showing fine examples from leading vignerons including Claude Papin
Yves Guegniard, Didier Champalou etc
To be accompanied by a 3 course dinner.

Monday 15th October ‘2009 Revisited’ Tasting & Dinner  £49.50
A look at how this outstanding vintage in the Loire has developed with bottles from Chinon, St Nicolas de Bourgueil and Anjou to the fore.

Monday 26th November ‘Christmas Special’ Tasting & Dinner £49.50
At this time of year, many people are deciding which wines to buy for Christmas either for themselves to drink over the festive period or to give as presents.We will be showing a selection of suitable wines as well as the usual 3 course dinner.

Ajo Plunkett: head chef@RSJ

Ajo Plunkett

A few months ago Ajo Plunkett took over as head chef at the RSJ Restaurant from Alex Cano. Before coming to the RSJ Ajo worked for the ETM Group, who own 11 gastro pubs in the London area. The best known being The Gun in Canary Wharf and the Chiswell Dining Room.
