2010 was a very special year for us as the RSJ Restaurant celebrated its 30th year. We held a number of special events through the year to mark our 30th birthday.

RSJ Cellar Raid – tasting and dinner: 29th January 2013




The first tasting and dinner at the RSJ will be a cellar raid featuring some vintages from the 1980s and 1990s.


The wines will be:   

Aperitif:
2011 Touraine Sauvignon, Clos Roussely, Vincent Roussely

White:

1990 Jasnières Joël Gigou

1988 Vouvray Sec Philippe Foreau

With Starter:  1995 L'd'Or Domaine Pierre Luneau-Papin

Red:

1997 Anjou Villages Prestige Vincent Ogereau

1989 Saumur Champigny Prestige  Domaine des Cordeliers, Michel Ratron

With main course:  1990 Saumur-Champigny Domaine de Nerleux, Régis Neau


Sweet:

Italian Sunday Lunch at RSJ: 17th February 2013

Our first lunch in 2013 with the passionate Italian cook, prolific food writer and personality, Ursula Ferrigno, is on Sunday 17th February at the RSJ Restaurant. 


Starting at 1.00pm this event will include a glass of wine on arrival. 


Sunday 17th February ‘Venetian Feast’  £32.00 
Ursula says of Venice: “This unique and enchanting place has such special memories for me as a child and as an adult teaching there. I would love to share with you some of my all time favourite dishes that relive those powerful memories.”

Chick pea and vegetable soup served with golden semolina bread anointed with delicious extra virgin olive oil.

Hand made ravioli with roasted mushrooms in a herb dressing

Fish cakes Venetian style – lightly spiced

Winter salad of roasted roots and spinach

Chocolate cake with orange sauce

Specially selected cheese from the region, served with fruit

We have a few places, strictly limited, for anyone who wishes to assist Ursula during the morning, making bread, pasta soup and sauces associated with these lunches. This will cost each person an additional £30.00 for this cookery tuition.
