2010 was a very special year for us as the RSJ Restaurant celebrated its 30th year. We held a number of special events through the year to mark our 30th birthday.

Winemakers' dinner: Jérôme Billard & Vincent Roussely: 26th June

We are delighted that Jérôme Billard from Domaine de la Noblaie in Chinon and Vincent Roussely from Clos Roussely in Touraine, two of the most talented young vignerons in the Loire , have agreed to come over and and present their wines.

This is the first visit to RSJ by Jerome who has more than 18 hectares in Ligre and works organically, making stunning red and white Chinon. He trained at Château Pétrus and also in California before returning to the family Domaine and has taken it to new heights.

Vincent showed his wines here at a very successful evening a couple of years ago and he makes wonderful Sauvignon, Gamay and Côt. He trained in South Africa, Australia and California and likewise makes his wines organically. Since we have been importing them they have gone from strength to strength

They both speak very good English and it is sure to be a terrific evening.

These wines will be accompanied by a 3 course dinner.

Italian Sunday Lunches at RSJ: 27th May and 24th June

Our Summer schedule of lunches with the passionate Italian cook, prolific food writer and personality, Ursula Ferrigno commences with the following dates at the RSJ Restaurant. Starting at 1.00pm these events will include a glass of wine on arrival.                                                                     

Sunday 27th May   ‘The Neapolitan Experience’                   £30.00
Fresh pea & mint frittata with roasted pepper relish
Spinach& potato gnochetti with tender young asparagus sauce
Ciambotta – Neapolitan version of ratatouille – the vegetable melange is scented with oregano & basil
Herbed green salad with a famous lemon dressing.
Profiteroles al limone -  gossamer light and filled with lemon pastry cream
A selection of cheeses.

Sunday 24th June   ‘Cavalier Calabria ’                                      £30.00
Involtini of peppers and aubergines – little parcels of cheese with a herb salad
Hand rolled and cut tagliatelle with cherry tomato, clam & rocket sauce
Panzanella di Calabria – Pepper capers and marinated courgette with croutons
Broad beans and spicy chick pea salad
Stuffed apricots with delectable ice cream
Specially selected cheese from the region

We have a few places [strictly limited] for anyone who wishes to assist Ursula during the morning, making bread, pasta soup and sauces associated with these lunches.* This will cost each person an additional £30.00 for this cookery tuition.
