We have been fortunate to obtain a small parcel of this superb wine only made in the best vintages. Aged for 18 months in oak from over 50-year-old vines in Frédéric's best vineyard site. Wonderful concentration.

Laurent and Claude Champault took over the family domaine from from their father, Roger, some years ago. Based in Champtin in the commune of Crézancy-en-Sancerre, they are making wonderful wine. Their good friend, Sébastien Treuillet, makes delicious minerally Pouilly-Fumé at his small property a few miles away on the other side of the Loire River.

Vincent is a dynamic young vigneron based at Angé in Touraine's Cher Valley.
He did part of his training in the New World and came back to take over family vineyards where he works organically. This wine has a lovely freshness and ripe rounded fruit.

Vincent's wines have been hugely popular since we started importing from him four years ago.

Christophe has been working organically for many years at the beautiful family property in Anjou  His delicious Sauvignon has a real elegance and quality and for many years it has been a wine in great demand with RSJ customers.

4 bottles 2015 Quincy Domaine des Ballandors, Jean Tatin & Chantal Wilk
Jean & Chantal’s ever-popular Quincy has a lovely clear cut minerality and is beautifully balanced. This appellation [the 2nd oldest after Châteuneuf du Pape] has become increasingly fashionable in recent years and Jean & Chantal’s wines are right at the top of the tree.

Jérôme worked at Chateau Pétrus and also Dominus in California, two of the world’s great domaines before returning home to Chinon where he has transformed the family vineyards. He is working organically and has received great plaudits for the outstanding quality of his wines.

Frédéric Mabileau (St Nicolas de Bourgueil) is recognised as one of the great winemakers in France. He works biodynamically and his wines are universally popular and such is the global demand they are getting more difficult to acquire. We have, however, been working with him since he started in 1995 and happily he continues to supply us with our requirements.

We are delighted that Jérôme is coming over in January and has agreed to do a tasting here. It is a couple of years since his last visit here and it is always a pleasure to welcome one of the Loire ’s finest wine makers to RSJ. 

He speaks excellent English and has a great sense of humour. Jérôme returned to his beautiful family property after working at Château Pétrus and Dominus [California]. 

He has transformed the Domaine into an organic set up and is producing fabulous red & white wines and a very attractive Rosé.
